Questions
Can you play GTA in a browser?
Yes. As of October 25, 2026, GTA: Vice City (browser port) and GTA III (browser port) both run in a browser tab, free, with no download to install and no account. They are the full PC games on community engine ports, not remakes, and you do not need your own copy: Quenq's pages include the game data.
When does GTA 6 come out?
November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, per Rockstar's pre-order announcement. Pre-load and boxed copies (a code in the box) arrive November 12.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC, or to a browser?
Rockstar has not announced a PC version; GamesBeat reported on October 13, from four anonymous sources, that one is planned for early 2027. There is no browser version: until then, Vice City and GTA III above are the GTA you can play on a computer.
What is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
Rockstar posted it on October 15, five weeks before launch: Jason's past in the army, Lucia leaping from a speeding car onto a plane in flight, heists, fist fights, motorcycle stunts and police chases. It is the first video in our trailer list above.
Did GTA 6 leak?
Yes, repeatedly. Rockstar called this year's leaked gameplay videos "heartbreaking" in August, and Take-Two has filed subpoenas to unmask the leaker known as Cyberleek. None of the leaked footage is confirmed by Rockstar, and we do not link it. Sources are in Leaks and rumours above.
Which one should I play now?
GTA: Vice City (browser port) if you want the neon, the 1980s soundtrack and Tommy Vercetti; GTA III (browser port) for the darker Liberty City and a slightly smaller download. For something lighter that was built for the browser, Taipei Rush (臺北狂飆) loads faster and plays by touch.
How big is the download?
About 130 MB before Vice City's start screen and about 116 MB before GTA III's, measured in Chrome, with more of the city streaming in as you drive. Both are cached after the first visit. Every classic port with its size is in our guide to classic games in your browser.
Can I use my saves and mods?
Both setup screens have a Save Manager that uploads .b save files from the PC or PS2 game and downloads backups, and a Mod Manager that installs mods (it links GameModding.com and GTAinside). We have not installed a mod.
Is it official, and is it safe?
No, it is not official: Rockstar and Take-Two did not make or license these ports, and Take-Two has had browser copies taken down before (DOS Zone removed its own Vice City after a DMCA request), so they could disappear. Quenq's pages carry ads and a Disqus comment thread around the game; since October 24 the ads include big blue 'Play: With Windows Extension' and 'Download' boxes that install browser extensions, so skip those and press PLAY GAME inside the dark game frame. Both games are rated M for violence, crime and language, so not for kids.
Do they work on a phone?
Quenq says both show touch controls on phones (landscape and fullscreen work best) and that controllers work; we played them on a computer. Taipei Rush (臺北狂飆) plays by touch in landscape. More in our guide to browser games on your phone.
Can you make your own GTA mission?
For San Andreas, yes, with AI help and your own installed copy of the game: how levelsio used Claude Code to make a GTA San Andreas mission, with his prompt and a starter to build your own.
