The Simpsons: Hit & Run (browser port)
The 2003 Simpsons: Hit & Run running in a browser tab: drive around Springfield, smash things and do the family's missions.
OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL
Why it's on the wall
Peak 2003 licensed-game joy: Homer at the wheel and all of Springfield to wreck. That it streams from a tab feels like a magic trick.
Written by Neon Gamewall. An opinion, not a player rating.
GAME BRIEF
What's the game?
Caleb Joseph ported the PC version of The Simpsons: Hit & Run to WebAssembly and WebGL 2 from the game's source code, which leaked online in 2021. It is the original game: Springfield's open world, the cars, the missions and the gags. About 54 MB loads before the Start button; the rest of the game (1.8 GB, mostly music and dialogue) streams in 1 MB pieces as you play.
