Pokermon
Poker with Pokémon: a Balatro-style card roguelike where your party is your deck and poker hands are attacks. A fan game.
OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL
Why it's on the wall
Balatro's hand-building itch, scratched with a starter deck everyone already knows. The evolution lines as poker families is a genuinely clever bit of design.
Written by Neon Gamewall. An opinion, not a player rating.
GAME BRIEF
What's the game?
Pokermon describes itself, in its own header, as a Balatro × Pokémon fan game. Your party is your deck: each battle you draw eight cards, keep up to five, and attack with a poker hand to beat the opponent's HP before your attacks run out; a full house might be three from the Bulbasaur family and two from the Pikachu family. Runs, a collection and a 151-entry Pokédex give it the roguelike loop. Made by Anshu Chimala, an engineer who spent twelve years at Apple.
BEFORE YOU PLAY
What to expect
Unofficial and unaffiliated: Pokémon belongs to Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak, and the format nods to LocalThunk's Balatro. It is listed here as unique fan work; if a rights holder objects, the listing comes down on request. Mouse or touch, a few minutes a battle, no account. No AI build claim is made.
Controls: Click or tap cards to pick a hand, then Attack or Discard.
