Minecrust
A Minecraft-style block world written from scratch in Rust and WebAssembly: infinite terrain, physics, shadows, building.
OUR TAKE / EDITORIAL
Why it's on the wall
The purest version of the block-world idea: terrain, physics and light, nothing else. Toggle flying and go look at the shadows.
Written by Neon Gamewall. An opinion, not a player rating.
GAME BRIEF
What's the game?
Minecrust is, in its author's words, a Minecraft clone that runs in the browser, written from scratch in Rust. It compiles to WebAssembly and draws with WebGPU, generates infinite procedural terrain with dynamic memory management, simulates physics and collisions for the player, and has custom shaders for shadows and reflections. You can break blocks, place blocks of several types, and fly.
BEFORE YOU PLAY
What to expect
A personal engineering project rather than a finished game: no saving, no crafting, no monsters, just a world to walk and build in. Needs a current Chrome or Edge for WebGPU. It is an original clone with its own code and blocks, unaffiliated with Mojang. No AI build claim is made.
Controls: WASD to move, Space to jump, click to break, right-click to place, 1-5 to pick a block, / to toggle flying.
